July 18 Red Hot Summer Dance Party - Pilot Hill
Mick Martin and the Blues Rockers will headline this year’s dance party. Blues Box Bayou Band will open the show at 6:00 p.m. Proceeds from this event benefit restoration of the historic Bayley House in Pilot Hill. Enjoy great music, fine food and dancing in the Sierra Foothills!

July 18 Bodie Photographers Day - Bodie
The Friends of Bodie host a Photographers’ Day on the 3rd Saturday of each month May through October. On this day photographers are allowed to enter Bodie State Historic Park 1/2-hour before sunrise and stay until 1/2-hour after sunrise. Pre-registration is required. Fee. July 18 & 19 Gold Discovery Days - Johnsville
This year, California State Parks, the Plumas-Eureka State Park Association, and the Johnsville Historical Society are hosting an extra special celebration marking the 50th Anniversary of the park on July 18th and 19th from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. both days. Visitors will meet characters from the old west as volunteers dressed in period costume will be performing their roles as the mine's blacksmith, assayer, mill operator, and town residents. Self-guided tours and guided tours will be available as will horse and buggy rides through town. A barbeque lunch is available on Saturday and Sunday morning is the park's annual pancake breakfast. The event is free and open to the public. Proceeds will benefit the non-profit Plumas-Eureka State Park Association which is dedicated to the interpretation and education of the park's rich cultural and natural history.
